Stats & Training

Bellossom's built to absorb hits, not race for knockouts. Balanced defenses with Sp. Def doing the heavy lifting. And the 1.06M XP medium-slow curve means it won't take forever to bring up, worth 3 Sp. Def EVs.

How to Get Bellossom in Sun & Moon

Bellossom isn't available in the wild in Sun & Moon. Start by transferring Oddish from Red, Yellow, or Emerald. The evolution path from Oddish to Bellossom is covered in the steps below.

Bellossom Guide

  • In Sun & Moon, Bellossom looks average on paper at 490 BST. But Chlorophyll is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. C-Tier on our tier list. Stun Spore with Heatrock is the standard set.

  • In Sun & Moon, Bellossom's biggest threats include Charizard (Fire), Cloyster (Ice), and Nidoking (Poison), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Flying and Bug-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.

  • Bellossom gets Chlorophyll and Healer. But Chlorophyll is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.

  • Bellossom is a special attacker with base 90 Sp. Atk. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 50 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go.

  • In Sun & Moon, the best way to handle Bellossom: Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Fire, Ice, and Poison-type attackers hit hardest.

Game Availability

Since Gold & Silver, Bellossom has been in 18 games. Requiring an item-based evolution to obtain means it's consistently available but requires more effort than simply catching it in the wild.
