Stats & Training
Jumpluff's spread isn't flashy. Speed leads, Attack trails, 2 stats clear the bar. Tough to catch and worth 3 Speed EVs, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
Jumpluff travels on seasonal winds. Once its cotton spores run out, its journey ends, as does its life.
Beware its cotton spores. If you accidentally breathe them in, you’ll be racked with coughs and itchiness.
Jumpluff Weakness
Ice, Fire, Poison, Flying, and Rock moves hit Jumpluff for super-effective damage. Ice hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. The upside? Ground-type moves can't touch it at all. Jumpluff's special bulk (base 95 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

Sun & Moon Evolution
Jumpluff is the final form in a three-stage chain from Hoppip through Skiploom. Breeding this form produces Hoppip eggs (average hatch time). Evolving from Hoppip gave Jumpluff the biggest boost in Speed (+60), bringing the total to 460 stats. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding

Sun & Moon Jumpluff Best Moveset

How to Get Jumpluff in Sun & Moon
No wild encounters for Jumpluff in Sun & Moon. Bring Hoppip over from Gold, Crystal, or HeartGold, then level through the stages. Each step in the chain is laid out below.
Jumpluff Guide
In Sun & Moon, Don't let Jumpluff's 460 base stat total fool you. Chlorophyll is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier as a pivot. Energy Ball with Sitrus Berry is the standard set.
In Sun & Moon, watch for Cloyster (Ice), Arcanine (Fire), and Nidoking (Poison) when using Jumpluff. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Cloyster is the most dangerous since Ice moves deal 4x damage. Flying and Rock-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
In Sun & Moon, Run Chlorophyll on Jumpluff. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Jumpluff also gets Leaf Guard and Infiltrator, but they don't compare.
In Sun & Moon, Jumpluff fills the pivot role. It's a physical attacker with base 55 Attack. Base 110 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
In Sun & Moon, run Energy Ball, Swords Dance, Acrobatics, and Seedbomb on Jumpluff. Energy Ball is the most common pick at 13% usage. Acrobatics provides reliable STAB damage.
