Breeding's the move. Flail and Razor Leaf give Bellossom options it can't learn any other way, and Normal and Poison coverage already covers a decent range on top of Petal Dance and Solar Beam. The egg moves push it further.

Bellossom Guide

  • In Crystal, Bellossom brings 480 BST to the table. C-Tier on our list: a niche pick in Crystal's meta. Giga Drain with Leftovers is the standard set.

  • In Crystal, Bellossom's biggest threats include Charizard (Fire), Cloyster (Ice), and Nidoking (Poison), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Flying and Bug-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.

  • Bellossom is a special attacker with base 90 Sp. Atk. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 50 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go.

  • For Crystal, the core moveset is Giga Drain, Leech Seed, Moonlight, and Stun Spore. Giga Drain leads at 25% usage. This set covers the balanced role with a mix of damage and utility.

  • In Crystal, the best way to handle Bellossom: Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Fire, Ice, and Poison-type attackers hit hardest.

Game Availability

Since Gold & Silver, Bellossom has been in 18 games. Requiring an item-based evolution to obtain means it's consistently available but requires more effort than simply catching it in the wild.
