Bellossom Guide

  • In FireRed & LeafGreen, Bellossom looks average on paper at 480 BST. But Chlorophyll is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. C-Tier on our tier list. Leech Seed with Leftovers is the standard set.

  • In FireRed & LeafGreen, Bellossom's biggest threats include Charizard (Fire), Cloyster (Ice), and Nidoking (Poison), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Flying and Bug-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.

  • Bellossom gets Chlorophyll and Healer. But Chlorophyll is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.

  • Bellossom is a special attacker with base 90 Sp. Atk. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 50 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go.

  • For FireRed & LeafGreen, the core moveset is Leech Seed, Giga Drain, Stun Spore, and Hiddenpowerice. Leech Seed leads at 24% usage. This set covers the balanced role with a mix of damage and utility.

Game Availability

Since Gold & Silver, Bellossom has been in 18 games. Requiring an item-based evolution to obtain means it's consistently available but requires more effort than simply catching it in the wild.
