Stats & Training
Jumpluff's spread isn't flashy. Speed leads, Attack trails, 2 stats clear the bar. Tough to catch and worth 3 Speed EVs, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.

Jumpluff Weakness
Ice, Fire, Poison, Flying, and Rock moves hit Jumpluff for super-effective damage. Ice hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. The upside? Ground-type moves can't touch it at all. Jumpluff's special bulk (base 95 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)
In Black 2 & White 2, Dragonite can KO Jumpluff with Outrage (101-120%). Volcarona threatens a KO with Fire Blast (133-157%). Terrakion's Stone Edge also KOs at 151-177%.

How to Get Jumpluff in Black 2 & White 2
No wild encounters for Jumpluff in Black 2 & White 2. Bring Hoppip over from Gold, Crystal, or HeartGold, then level through the stages. Each step in the chain is laid out below.
Jumpluff Guide
In Black 2 & White 2, Don't let Jumpluff's 460 base stat total fool you. Chlorophyll is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier as a pivot. U Turn with Sitrus Berry is the standard set.
In Black 2 & White 2, watch for Cloyster (Ice), Arcanine (Fire), and Nidoking (Poison) when using Jumpluff. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Cloyster is the most dangerous since Ice moves deal 4x damage. Flying and Rock-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
In Black 2 & White 2, Run Chlorophyll on Jumpluff. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Jumpluff also gets Leaf Guard and Infiltrator, but they don't compare.
In Black 2 & White 2, Jumpluff fills the pivot role. It's a physical attacker with base 55 Attack. Base 110 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
In Black 2 & White 2, run U Turn, Acrobatics, Bullet Seed, and Swords Dance on Jumpluff. U Turn is the most common pick at 18% usage. Acrobatics provides reliable STAB damage.
