Stats & Training
Clefable's spread isn't flashy. HP leads, Speed trails, 3 stats clear the bar. Very hard to catch and worth 3 HP EVs, on a fast 800K XP curve.
Its hearing is so acute it can hear a pin drop over half a mile away. It lives on quiet mountains.
A timid fairy Pokémon that is rarely seen, it will run and hide the moment it senses people.
Clefable Weakness
Clefable is weak to Poison and Steel. On the flip side, it's immune to Dragon-type moves entirely. With 95 HP and balanced defenses, Clefable can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.

X & Y Evolution
Clefable doesn't evolve through normal leveling. You'll need an evolution item to get here from Cleffa's line. Breed this form to get Cleffa eggs (quick to hatch). Evolving from Cleffa gave Clefable the biggest boost in Sp.Atk (+50), bringing the total to 483 stats. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed with Clefable to get Cleffa eggs easily using 47 partners from the Fairy egg group. Notable egg moves include Amnesia, Aromatherapy, Belly Drum and 11 more.
X & Y Clefable Best Moveset
This is a pure walling set. Leftovers provides passive recovery each turn so Clefable sticks around, and the Bold nature reinforces physical wall. Soft-Boiled handles sustain while Magic Guard does work passively.

How to Get Clefable in X & Y
Clefable isn't available in the wild in X & Y. Start by transferring Cleffa from Crystal, Diamond, or Legends: Arceus. The evolution path from Cleffa to Clefable is covered in the steps below.
Clefable Guide
In X & Y, Don't let Clefable's 483 base stat total fool you. Magic Guard is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it A-Tier. Moonblast with Leftovers is the standard set.
In X & Y, Run Magic Guard on Clefable. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Clefable also gets Cute Charm and Unaware, but they don't compare.
In X & Y, Clefable fills the balanced role. It's a special attacker with base 95 Sp. Atk. At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
In X & Y, the best way to handle Clefable: Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Poison and Steel-type attackers hit hardest.
Game Availability
Clefable has been part of the series since Red & Blue, appearing in 22 titles across all 10 generations. As a Gen 1 original, it's one of the most consistently available Pokemon in the franchise.
