Clefable moves by skipping lightly as if it were flying using its wings. Its bouncy step lets it even walk on water. It is known to take strolls on lakes on quiet, moonlit nights.

Clefable Weakness

Clefable is weak to Poison and Steel. On the flip side, it's immune to Dragon-type moves entirely. With 95 HP and balanced defenses, Clefable can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.

How to Get Clefable in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire

Cleffa doesn't appear in the wild, so the 3-stage path to Clefable starts at the nursery. Catch Clefairy first, breed for Cleffa, then evolve through the chain.

How to Obtain Clefable in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire

The path to Clefable starts with Cleffa at Lv. 19-40 via walking encounters. 1 catchable stage total, with locations listed for each one below.

Clefable Guide

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Don't let Clefable's 483 base stat total fool you. Magic Guard is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it A-Tier. Moonblast with Leftovers is the standard set.

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Clefable's biggest threats include Gengar (Poison) and Steelix (Steel), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Run Magic Guard on Clefable. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Clefable also gets Cute Charm and Unaware, but they don't compare.

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Clefable fills the balanced role. It's a special attacker with base 95 Sp. Atk. At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, the best way to handle Clefable: Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Poison and Steel-type attackers hit hardest.

Game Availability

Clefable has been part of the series since Red & Blue, appearing in 22 titles across all 10 generations. As a Gen 1 original, it's one of the most consistently available Pokemon in the franchise.
