Stats & Training
Nothing fancy in Latias's spread. It leans special with Sp. Def out front. And you'll get 3 Sp. Def EVs per KO for it. Follows a slow 1.25M XP grind.
It communicates using telepathy. Its body is covered in down that refracts light to make it invisible.
It can telepathically communicate with people. It changes its appearance using its down that refracts light.
Latias Weakness
Latias is weak to Ice, Bug, Ghost, Dragon, Dark, and Fairy. It resists 6 types, so it can switch into a lot of moves safely. Levitate grants an additional Ground immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Latias's special bulk (base 130 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.
| Damage | Types |

| 2x (Weak) | Ice, Bug, Ghost, Dragon, Dark, Fairy |

For a special attacker, Latias wants max HP and Speed EVs and Colbur Berry. The Timid nature tilts toward fast special duty, and Levitate contributes without taking a move slot.

Latias Guide
In X & Y, Latias is a Legendary Pokemon rated B-Tier. At 600 BST, it hits hard. It excels as a sweeper. Defog with Colbur Berry is the standard set.
In X & Y, yes. Mega Latias is the evolved form, sitting at 700 BST. Big power spike over base Latias (600). Equip the Mega Stone and it transforms in battle.
In X & Y, Latias's biggest threats include Walrein (Ice), Pinsir (Bug), and Gengar (Ghost), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Dragon, Dark, and Fairy-type attackers are also a problem. With 6 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. Latias has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.
Latias gets Levitate. But Levitate is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that. With base 110 Speed, Levitate gives Latias an edge before opponents can react.
Latias is a special attacker with base 110 Sp. Atk. Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 110 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. Fits the sweeper role.
