Stats & Training
Clefable's spread isn't flashy. HP leads, Speed trails, 3 stats clear the bar. Very hard to catch and worth 3 HP EVs, on a fast 800K XP curve.
Legend says that on clear, quiet nights, it listens for the voices of its kin living on the moon. I, too, often think of my homeland, so far away.
Clefable Weakness
Clefable is weak to Poison and Steel. On the flip side, it's immune to Dragon-type moves entirely. With 95 HP and balanced defenses, Clefable can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.

Scarlet & Violet Evolution
Clefable doesn't evolve through normal leveling. You'll need an evolution item to get here from Cleffa's line. Breed this form to get Cleffa eggs (quick to hatch). Evolving from Cleffa gave Clefable the biggest boost in Sp.Atk (+50), bringing the total to 483 stats. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Scarlet & Violet Clefable Best Moveset
Clefable's job is getting Stealth Rock up and staying on the field. Leftovers provides passive recovery each turn, Magic Guard helps it stick around, and max HP and Sp. Def EVs prioritize longevity. Soft-Boiled keeps it healthy between hits.

How to Get Clefable in Scarlet & Violet
Clefable can't be caught in Scarlet & Violet. Transfer Cleffa from Crystal, Diamond, or Legends: Arceus and evolve through the 3-stage chain to get it. The step cards below map the full chain.
Clefable Guide
In Scarlet & Violet, Don't let Clefable's 483 base stat total fool you. Magic Guard is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it A-Tier. Moonblast with Leftovers is the standard set.
In Scarlet & Violet, Run Magic Guard on Clefable. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Clefable also gets Cute Charm and Unaware, but they don't compare.
In Scarlet & Violet, Clefable fills the balanced role. It's a special attacker with base 95 Sp. Atk. At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
In Scarlet & Violet, the best way to handle Clefable: Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Poison and Steel-type attackers hit hardest.
Game Availability
Clefable has been part of the series since Red & Blue, appearing in 22 titles across all 10 generations. As a Gen 1 original, it's one of the most consistently available Pokemon in the franchise.
