Clefable Weakness

Clefable is weak to Fighting. On the flip side, it's immune to Ghost-type moves entirely. With 95 HP and balanced defenses, Clefable can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.

Clefable Guide

  • In Diamond & Pearl, Don't let Clefable's 483 base stat total fool you. Magic Guard is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it B-Tier. Soft Boiled with Leftovers is the standard set.

  • In Diamond & Pearl, Clefable's biggest threats include Machamp (Fighting), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • In Diamond & Pearl, Run Magic Guard on Clefable. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Clefable also gets Cute Charm and Unaware, but they don't compare.

  • In Diamond & Pearl, Clefable fills the balanced role. It's a special attacker with base 95 Sp. Atk. At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • In Diamond & Pearl, Unaware is the hidden ability. It ignores other Pokémon's stat modifiers for damage and accuracy calculation. Worth hunting for if you want Clefable to compete at a higher level.

Game Availability

Clefable has been part of the series since Red & Blue, appearing in 22 titles across all 10 generations. As a Gen 1 original, it's one of the most consistently available Pokemon in the franchise.
