Stats & Training
Clefable's spread isn't flashy. HP leads, Speed trails, 3 stats clear the bar. Very hard to catch and worth 3 HP EVs, on a fast 800K XP curve.
It has an acute sense of hearing. It can easily hear a pin being dropped nearly 1,100 yards away.
A timid fairy POKéMON that is rarely seen, it will run and hide the moment it senses people.
Clefable Weakness
Clefable is weak to Fighting. On the flip side, it's immune to Ghost-type moves entirely. With 95 HP and balanced defenses, Clefable can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.
| Damage | Types |

- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move

FireRed & LeafGreen Evolution
Clefable doesn't evolve through normal leveling. You'll need an evolution item to get here from Cleffa's line. Breed this form to get Cleffa eggs (quick to hatch). Evolving from Cleffa gave Clefable the biggest boost in Sp.Atk (+50), bringing the total to 483 stats. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.

FireRed & LeafGreen Clefable Best Moveset
This is a pure walling set. Leftovers provides passive recovery each turn so Clefable sticks around, and the Bold nature reinforces physical wall. Soft-Boiled handles sustain while Cutecharm does work passively.

Clefable Guide
In FireRed & LeafGreen, Don't let Clefable's 483 base stat total fool you. Magic Guard is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier. Soft Boiled with Leftovers is the standard set.
In FireRed & LeafGreen, Clefable's biggest threats include Machamp (Fighting), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.
In FireRed & LeafGreen, Run Magic Guard on Clefable. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Clefable also gets Cute Charm and Unaware, but they don't compare.
In FireRed & LeafGreen, Clefable fills the balanced role. It's a physical attacker with base 70 Attack. At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
For FireRed & LeafGreen, the core moveset is Soft Boiled, Seismic Toss, Thunder Wave, and Cosmicpower. Soft Boiled leads at 20% usage. This set covers the balanced role with a mix of damage and utility.
