Palpitoad Weakness

Palpitoad is weak to Grass. Watch out for Grass attacks, those deal 4x damage. On the flip side, it's immune to Electric-type moves entirely. The Water/Ground typing picks up 4 resistances to work with. Water Absorb grants an additional Water immunity, reshaping the matchup chart.

Palpitoad Guide

  • At 384 BST, Palpitoad is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Evolve it into Seismitoad before bringing it to any serious fight.

  • In Black & White, Palpitoad's biggest threats include Venusaur (Grass), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Venusaur is the most dangerous since Grass moves deal 4x damage. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • In Black & White, Tympole evolves into Palpitoad at level 25. Palpitoad evolves into Seismitoad at level 36. Palpitoad is a middle-stage evolution in the Tympole line.

  • Palpitoad gets Swift Swim, Hydration, and Water Absorb. But Swift Swim is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.

  • In Black & White, Water Absorb is the hidden ability. It absorbs water moves, healing for 1/4 max HP. Worth hunting for if you want Palpitoad to compete at a higher level.

Game Availability

Since Black & White, Palpitoad has been obtainable in 8 games. A Generation 5 debut means a shorter history, but Palpitoad has appeared steadily across every generation since.
