Stats & Training
Nothing fancy in Leavanny's spread. It leans physical with Attack out front. And you'll get 3 Attack EVs per KO for it. Follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
Upon finding a small Pokémon, it weaves clothing for it from leaves, using the cutters on its arms and sticky silk.
It keeps its eggs warm with heat from fermenting leaves. It also uses leaves to make warm wrappings for Sewaddle.
Leavanny Weakness
Type-wise, Leavanny takes extra damage from Fire, Flying, Ice, Poison, Bug, and Rock. Watch out for Fire and Flying attacks, those deal 4x damage. The Bug/Grass typing picks up 5 resistances to work with.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 4x (Critical) | Fire, Flying |
| 2x (Weak) | Ice, Poison, Bug, Rock |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Water, Electric, Fighting |
| 0.25x (Resist) | Grass, Ground |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)

Leavanny Guide
In Black & White, Leavanny looks average on paper at 500 BST. But Chlorophyll is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. C-Tier attacker on our tier list. Leafblade with Focus Sash is the standard set.
In Black & White, Leavanny's biggest threats include Blaziken (Fire), Salamence (Flying), and Walrein (Ice), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Blaziken is the most dangerous since Fire moves deal 4x damage. Poison, Bug, and Rock-type attackers are also a problem. With 6 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
Leavanny gets Chlorophyll, Swarm, and Overcoat. But Chlorophyll is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.
Leavanny is a physical attacker with base 103 Attack. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 92 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. Fits the attacker role.
In Black & White, the best way to handle Leavanny: Faster attackers outpace it. Anything with a super-effective STAB move and decent speed can revenge kill.
