Like the wind, it can slip through any gap, no matter how small. It leaves balls of white fluff behind.

Whimsicott Guide

  • In Black & White, Prankster changes the entire equation for Whimsicott. The 480 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as a pivot. Stun Spore with Focus Sash is the standard set.

  • In Black & White, watch for Blaziken (Fire), Weavile (Ice), and Nidoking (Poison) when using Whimsicott. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Flying and Bug-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.

  • Prankster is what you want on Whimsicott. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Infiltrator, Chlorophyll) work on paper but Prankster is what makes Whimsicott worth using.

  • Base 116 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. On offense, Whimsicott is leaning toward the special side (base 77 Sp. Atk). Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a pivot.

  • In Black & White, Whimsicott's hidden ability is Chlorophyll. Doubles Speed during strong sunlight. Better than the standard options for competitive play.

Game Availability

Whimsicott joined the series in Black & White and has been available in 8 titles so far. With 6 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
