Krookodile Guide

  • In Black & White, Intimidate changes the entire equation for Krookodile. The 509 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as a wallbreaker. Earthquake with Choice Scarf is the standard set.

  • In Black & White, watch for Starmie (Water), Breloom (Grass), and Lapras (Ice) when using Krookodile. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Fighting and Bug-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.

  • Intimidate is what you want on Krookodile. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Moxie, Anger Point) work on paper but Intimidate is what makes Krookodile worth using.

  • Base 92 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Krookodile is a physical attacker with base 117 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a wallbreaker.

  • For Black & White, Krookodile has answers, but so do you. Status moves (Toxic, Will-O-Wisp) wear it down. Setup sweepers can use it as a boost opportunity. Special attackers bypass its physical bulk.

Game Availability

Krookodile joined the series in Black & White and has been available in 9 titles so far. With 6 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
