Scrafty's built to absorb hits, not race for knockouts. Balanced defenses with Defense doing the heavy lifting. And the medium-fast 1M XP curve means it won't take forever to bring up, worth 2 Defense and Sp. Def EVs.

It pulls up its shed skin to protect itself while it kicks. The bigger the crest, the more respected it is.

Scrafty Weakness

Scrafty is weak to Fairy, Fighting, and Flying. Watch out for Fairy attacks, those deal 4x damage. On the flip side, it's immune to Psychic-type moves entirely. Scrafty's overall bulk (65/115/115) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.

How to Get Scrafty in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire

Can't catch Scrafty directly. Start with Scraggy at solid rates from the locations below, then evolve at level 39. The 2-stage line from Scraggy to Scrafty is where the leveling time goes.

Scrafty Guide

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Scrafty looks average on paper at 488 BST. But Intimidate is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. B-Tier on our tier list. Fakeout with Sitrus Berry is the standard set.

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Scrafty's biggest threats include Togekiss (Fairy), Machamp (Fighting), and Aerodactyl (Flying), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Togekiss is the most dangerous since Fairy moves deal 4x damage.

  • Scrafty gets Intimidate, Shed Skin, and Moxie. But Intimidate is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.

  • Scrafty is leaning toward the physical side (base 90 Attack). Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. Speed tells the real story. At base 58 Speed, it won't be moving first often.

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Intimidate is the hidden ability. It lowers opponents' Attack one stage upon entering battle. Worth hunting for if you want Scrafty to compete at a higher level.

Game Availability

Since Black & White, Scrafty has been obtainable in 9 games. A Generation 5 debut means a shorter history, but Scrafty has appeared steadily across every generation since.
