Stats & Training
Bulk defines Spiritomb's stat line. Defense and Sp. Def anchor the defensive side, but Speed can't keep up offensively. Moderately hard to find and worth 2 Defense and Sp. Def EVs.
Exactly 108 spirits gathered to become this Pokémon. Apparently there are some ill-natured spirits in the mix.
All Spiritomb’s mischief and misdeeds compelled a traveler to use a mysterious spell to bind Spiritomb to an odd keystone.
Spiritomb Weakness
Type-wise, Spiritomb takes extra damage from Fairy. Normal, Fighting, and Psychic moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. With 50 HP and balanced defenses, Spiritomb can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Fairy |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Poison |
| 0x (Immune) | Normal, Fighting, Psychic |
In Sword & Shield, Clefable's Moonblast hits Spiritomb for 45-53%.

Sword & Shield Evolution
Spiritomb is what you get. No evolutions, but it breeds through one egg group with a decent partner pool. Hatching is slow to hatch. It's got 5 egg moves worth looking into. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed Spiritomb easily with 46 breeding partners from the Indeterminate egg group. Pass egg moves like Destiny Bond, Disable, Grudge and 2 more to offspring.
Sword & Shield Spiritomb Best Moveset
Nothing fancy here. Spiritomb builds around Leftovers for passive recovery each turn, Sassy nature for the right stat lean, and max HP and Sp. Def EVs. Infiltrator does its job quietly.

Moves
The egg pool carries weight here. Destiny Bond and Disable aren't available any other way for Spiritomb, and they meaningfully change what it threatens. Stack those on top of Poltergeist and Foul Play for solid options.

How to Get Spiritomb in Sword & Shield
Spiritomb can't be caught in Sword & Shield. Bring it over from Diamond, Platinum, or Omega Ruby instead. The encounter info below covers the source games.
Spiritomb Guide
For Sword & Shield, we rate Spiritomb C-Tier: a niche pick in Sword & Shield's meta. At 485 BST, it fits the trick room role. Will O Wisp with Leftovers is the standard set.
In Sword & Shield, Spiritomb's biggest threats include Gardevoir (Fairy), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about. At base 35 Speed, Spiritomb won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
Pressure is the go-to ability for Spiritomb. It increases the PP cost of moves targetting the Pokémon by one. Its hidden ability Infiltrator can work in specific setups.
Base 35 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Spiritomb is a special attacker with base 92 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a trick room.
For Sword & Shield, the core moveset is Will O Wisp, Sucker Punch, Dark Pulse, and Shadow Ball. Will O Wisp leads at 14% usage. This set covers the trick room role with a mix of damage and utility.
