Mud that hardens around a Mudsdale’s legs sets harder than stone. It’s so hard that it allows this Pokémon to scrap a truck with a single kick.

Mudsdale Weakness

Type-wise, Mudsdale takes extra damage from Water, Grass, and Ice. Electric moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. Mudsdale's overall bulk (100/100/85) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.

Mudsdale Guide

  • In Sword & Shield, Mudsdale has a 500 base stat total and ranks as C-Tier: a niche pick in Sword & Shield's meta. It works best as a wallbreaker. Stealth Rock with Rocky Helmet is the standard set.

  • In Sword & Shield, Mudsdale's biggest threats include Gyarados (Water), Exeggutor (Grass), and Walrein (Ice), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. At base 35 Speed, Mudsdale won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.

  • Own Tempo is the go-to ability for Mudsdale. It prevents confusion. Its hidden ability Inner Focus can work in specific setups. Stamina is the other option. Pick based on what your team needs.

  • In Sword & Shield, Mudsdale fills the wallbreaker role. It's a physical attacker with base 125 Attack. Base 35 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's tanky enough to absorb a few hits.

  • For Sword & Shield, the core moveset is Stealth Rock, Bodypress, Highhorsepower, and Toxic. Stealth Rock leads at 25% usage. This set covers the wallbreaker role with a mix of damage and utility.

Game Availability

Introduced in Sun & Moon, Mudsdale has appeared in 4 games across 4 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
