Once a fight breaks out, it will unflinchingly charge at dragon Pokémon that are many times larger than itself.

Sylveon Weakness

Sylveon is weak to Poison and Steel. On the flip side, it's immune to Dragon-type moves entirely. Sylveon's special bulk (base 130 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

Moves

Egg moves make a real difference. Sylveon gets Captivate and Charm exclusively through breeding, filling gaps that TMs and level-up can't touch. Normal and Psychic coverage and more rounds out the picture alongside Moonblast and Dazzling Gleam.

Sylveon Guide

  • For Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, we rate Sylveon B-Tier: a solid option in Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon for the right team. At 525 BST, it fits the tank role. Heal Bell with Fairiumz is the standard set.

  • In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Sylveon's biggest threats include Gengar (Poison) and Aegislash (Steel), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Cute Charm is the go-to ability for Sylveon. It has a 30% chance of infatuating attacking Pokémon on contact. Its hidden ability Pixilate can work in specific setups.

  • At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Sylveon is a special attacker with base 110 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a tank.

  • For Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, the core moveset is Heal Bell, Hypervoice, Moonblast, and Shadow Ball. Heal Bell leads at 18% usage. Moonblast provides reliable STAB damage.
