Stats & Training
Nothing fancy in Latias's spread. It leans special with Sp. Def out front. And you'll get 3 Sp. Def EVs per KO for it. Follows a slow 1.25M XP grind.
Its body is covered with a down that can refract light in such a way that it becomes invisible.

Latias Weakness
Latias is weak to Ice, Bug, Ghost, Dragon, Dark, and Fairy. It resists 6 types, so it can switch into a lot of moves safely. Levitate grants an additional Ground immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Latias's special bulk (base 130 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Ice, Bug, Ghost, Dragon, Dark, Fairy |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Water, Electric, Grass, Fighting, Psychic |
In Sword & Shield, Runerigus's Poltergeist hits Latias for 83-98%. Salamence's Earthquake hits Latias for 41-48%. Incineroar deals 78-92% with Knock Off.

Latias Guide
In Sword & Shield, Latias is a Legendary Pokemon rated B-Tier. At 600 BST, it hits hard. It excels as a sweeper. Draco Meteor with Choice Scarf is the standard set.
Mega Evolution isn't available in Sword & Shield, but Latias does have a Mega form in Gen 6-7 games (X/Y, ORAS, Sun/Moon). Mega Latias hits 700 BST.
In Sword & Shield, Latias's biggest threats include Walrein (Ice), Pinsir (Bug), and Gengar (Ghost), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Dragon, Dark, and Fairy-type attackers are also a problem. With 6 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. Latias has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.
Latias gets Levitate. But Levitate is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that. With base 110 Speed, Levitate gives Latias an edge before opponents can react.
Latias is a special attacker with base 110 Sp. Atk. Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 110 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. Fits the sweeper role.
Game Availability
