Gigantamax energy has evoked a rise in its body temperature, now reaching over 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit. Its heat waves incinerate its enemies.

Centiskorch Weakness

Centiskorch's Fire/Bug typing leaves it vulnerable to Rock, Water, and Flying. Rock hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. It resists 6 types, so it can switch into a lot of moves safely. Flash Fire grants an additional Fire immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Centiskorch's special bulk (base 90 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

Centiskorch Guide

  • In Sword & Shield, Centiskorch looks average on paper at 525 BST. But Flash Fire is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. C-Tier wallbreaker on our tier list. Leechlife with Heavy-Duty Boots is the standard set.

  • In Sword & Shield, watch for Lycanroc (Rock), Urshifu (Water), and Dodrio (Flying) when using Centiskorch. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Lycanroc is the most dangerous since Rock moves deal 4x damage.

  • Centiskorch gets Flash Fire, White Smoke, and Flame Body. But Flash Fire is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.

  • Centiskorch is a physical attacker with base 115 Attack. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. At base 65 Speed, it won't be moving first often. Fits the wallbreaker role.

  • For Sword & Shield, Centiskorch has answers, but so do you. Status moves (Toxic, Will-O-Wisp) wear it down. Setup sweepers can use it as a boost opportunity. Special attackers bypass its physical bulk.

Game Availability

Available since Sword & Shield, Centiskorch appears in 2 games spanning 3 generations. Beyond its original form, it gained a Gigantamax form in Generation 8.
