Stats & Training
Chandelure's all-in on Sp. Atk at the expense of Attack. The special lean is obvious from the bars. Yields 3 Sp. Atk EVs and follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
This Pokémon haunts dilapidated mansions. It sways its arms to hypnotize opponents with the ominous dancing of its flames.
In homes illuminated by Chandelure instead of lights, funerals were a constant occurrence— or so it’s said.
Chandelure Weakness
Water, Ground, Rock, Ghost, and Dark moves hit Chandelure for super-effective damage. The upside? Normal and Fighting-type moves can't touch it at all. 7 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that. Flash Fire grants an additional Fire immunity, reshaping the matchup chart.

Don't skip the egg moves. Chandelure picks up Acid and Acid Armor only through breeding, and both fill gaps the natural movepool can't. STAB runs through Overheat and Fire Blast while Poison and Dark coverage and more adds range.

How to Get Chandelure in Sun & Moon
Chandelure doesn't appear wild. Catch Litwick instead, it shows up at moderate rates. Evolve it through a special method to get Chandelure. The 3-stage chain is mapped in the step cards below.
Chandelure Guide
In Sun & Moon, Don't let Chandelure's 520 base stat total fool you. Flash Fire is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it A-Tier as a cannon. Shadow Ball with Leftovers is the standard set.
In Sun & Moon, watch for Starmie (Water), Excadrill (Ground), and Aerodactyl (Rock) when using Chandelure. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Ghost and Dark-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
In Sun & Moon, Run Flash Fire on Chandelure. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Chandelure also gets Flame Body and Infiltrator, but they don't compare.
In Sun & Moon, Chandelure fills the cannon role. It's a special attacker with base 145 Sp. Atk. Base 80 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
For Sun & Moon, Chandelure has answers, but so do you. Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Water, Ground, and Rock-type attackers hit hardest.
Game Availability
