Chandelure Weakness

Water, Ground, Rock, Ghost, and Dark moves hit Chandelure for super-effective damage. The upside? Normal and Fighting-type moves can't touch it at all. 6 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that. Flash Fire grants an additional Fire immunity, reshaping the matchup chart.

Chandelure Guide

  • In Black 2 & White 2, Don't let Chandelure's 520 base stat total fool you. Flash Fire is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it B-Tier as a cannon. Shadow Ball with Choice Scarf is the standard set.

  • In Black 2 & White 2, watch for Starmie (Water), Excadrill (Ground), and Aerodactyl (Rock) when using Chandelure. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Ghost and Dark-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.

  • In Black 2 & White 2, Run Flash Fire on Chandelure. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Chandelure also gets Flame Body and Infiltrator, but they don't compare.

  • In Black 2 & White 2, Chandelure fills the cannon role. It's a special attacker with base 145 Sp. Atk. Base 80 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • For Black 2 & White 2, Chandelure has answers, but so do you. Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Water, Ground, and Rock-type attackers hit hardest.

Game Availability

Introduced in Black & White, Chandelure has appeared in 9 games across 6 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
