Stats & Training
Nothing fancy in Weezing's spread. It leans mixed with Defense out front. And you'll get 2 Defense EVs per KO for it. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
If one of the twin Koffing inflates, the other one deflates. It constantly mixes its poisonous gases.
Very rarely, a sudden mutation can result in two small Koffing twins becoming conjoined as a Weezing.
Weezing Weakness
Type-wise, Weezing takes extra damage from Ground and Psychic. The Poison typing picks up 5 resistances to work with. Levitate grants an additional Ground immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Weezing's physical bulk (base 120 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Ground, Psychic |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Grass, Fighting, Poison, Bug, Fairy |
In X & Y, Garchomp's Earthquake hits Weezing for 69-81%. Latios threatens a KO with Psyshock (137-161%). Landorus deals 64-76% with Earthquake.

X & Y Weezing Best Moveset
Fire coverage keeps opponents guessing about Weezing's real targets. Black Sludge provides Poison-type passive recovery while max HP and Defense EVs and Hardy nature handle the stat profile. Levitate ties it together.

How to Get Weezing in X & Y
Weezing isn't available in the wild in X & Y. Start by transferring Koffing from Red, Gold, or Sword. The evolution path from Koffing to Weezing is covered in the steps below.
Weezing Guide
In X & Y, Weezing looks average on paper at 490 BST. But Levitate is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. C-Tier on our tier list. Sludge Bomb with Black Sludge is the standard set.
Weezing gets Levitate, Neutralizing Gas, and Stench. But Levitate is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.
Weezing is a special attacker with base 85 Sp. Atk. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often.
For X & Y, the core moveset is Sludge Bomb, Flamethrower, Painsplit, and Will O Wisp. Sludge Bomb leads at 25% usage. This set covers the balanced role with a mix of damage and utility.
Game Availability
Available since Red & Blue, Weezing appears in 20 games spanning 10 generations. Beyond its original form, it gained a Galarian form in Generation 8.
