Stats & Training
The stat budget goes to damage. Attack and Sp. Atk carry the offense, Defense doesn't even come close. A Thunderbolt Pokemon on a medium-fast 1M XP curve, worth 3 Attack EVs per KO.
As its electric charge amplifies, blue sparks begin to crackle between its horns.
It pushes the tips of its two tails against the foe, then lets loose with over 20,000 volts of power.
Electivire Weakness
Type-wise, Electivire takes extra damage from Ground. Few weaknesses and 3 resistances make the typing clean. Motor Drive grants an additional Electric immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. With 75 HP and balanced defenses, Electivire can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.
| Damage | Types |

| 2x (Weak) | Ground |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Electric, Flying, Steel |
In X & Y, Excadrill can KO Electivire with Earthquake (161-190%). Garchomp threatens a KO with Earthquake (157-185%).

Electivire Guide
For X & Y, we rate Electivire C-Tier: a niche pick in X & Y's meta. At 540 BST, it fits the wallbreaker role. Earthquake with Life Orb is the standard set.
In X & Y, Electivire's biggest threats include Swampert (Ground), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.
Motor Drive is the go-to ability for Electivire. It absorbs electric moves, raising Speed one stage. Its hidden ability Vital Spirit can work in specific setups.
Base 95 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Electivire is a physical attacker with base 123 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a wallbreaker.
In X & Y, the best way to handle Electivire: Status moves (Toxic, Will-O-Wisp) wear it down. Setup sweepers can use it as a boost opportunity. Special attackers bypass its physical bulk.
Game Availability
Obtainable through a trade evolution, Electivire appears in 13 titles across 7 generations since Diamond & Pearl. The evolution method adds a barrier that wild-catchable Pokemon don't have.
