Weezing Guide

  • In X & Y, Weezing looks average on paper at 490 BST. But Levitate is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. C-Tier on our tier list. Sludge Bomb with Black Sludge is the standard set.

  • In X & Y, Weezing's biggest threats include Golem (Ground) and Starmie (Psychic), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Weezing gets Levitate, Neutralizing Gas, and Stench. But Levitate is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.

  • Weezing is a special attacker with base 85 Sp. Atk. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often.

  • For X & Y, the core moveset is Sludge Bomb, Flamethrower, Painsplit, and Will O Wisp. Sludge Bomb leads at 25% usage. This set covers the balanced role with a mix of damage and utility.

Available since Red & Blue, Weezing appears in 20 games spanning 10 generations. Beyond its original form, it gained a Galarian form in Generation 8.
