Stats & Training
The stat budget goes to damage. Attack and Sp. Atk carry the offense, Sp. Def doesn't even come close. A Flycatcher Pokemon on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve, worth 0 HP stat exp per KO.
When it is hungry, it swings its razor-sharp leaves, slicing up any unlucky object nearby for food.

Type-wise, Weepinbell takes extra damage from Fire, Ice, Flying, and Psychic. 4 resistances help offset the weaknesses. Standard number of weaknesses for the Grass/Poison typing.

| 2x (Weak) | Fire, Ice, Flying, Psychic |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Water, Electric, Fighting |
| 0.25x (Resist) | Grass |
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move
- Special stat split into Sp.Atk and Sp.Def

Moves
Breeding's the move. Encore and Leech Life give Weepinbell options it can't learn any other way, and Normal and Bug coverage already covers a decent range on top of Solar Beam and Sludge Bomb. The egg moves push it further.

Weepinbell Guide
Weepinbell is meant to evolve into Victreebel. At 390 BST, the stats aren't there for competitive play yet. Pre-evolution Pokemon rarely hold up against fully evolved threats.
In Crystal, Bellsprout evolves into Weepinbell at level 21. Weepinbell evolves into Victreebel using a Leaf Stone. Weepinbell is a middle-stage evolution in the Bellsprout line.
At base 55 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Weepinbell is a mixed attacker with base 90 Attack and 85 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Fragile, can't afford to take many hits.
For Crystal, you can run Weepinbell through the first few routes without issues. 390 BST won't carry you far though. Get it to Victreebel as fast as you can.
