Stats & Training
Raw HP carries Throh's bulk more than the defenses do. Sp. Atk barely registers. But that HP pool covers for it. A tough to catch Judo Pokemon that yields 2 HP EVs on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
When it tightens its belt, it becomes stronger. Wild Throh use vines to weave their own belts.
When they encounter foes bigger than themselves, they try to throw them. They always travel in packs of five.
Throh Weakness
Type-wise, Throh takes extra damage from Flying and Psychic. Few weaknesses and 3 resistances make the typing clean. Throh's overall bulk (120/85/85) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Flying, Psychic |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Bug, Rock, Dark |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)

Throh Guide
In Black & White, Mold Breaker changes the entire equation for Throh. The 465 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as a tank. Rest with Leftovers is the standard set.
Mold Breaker is what you want on Throh. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Guts, Inner Focus) work on paper but Mold Breaker is what makes Throh worth using.
Base 45 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Throh is a physical attacker with base 100 Attack. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a tank.
For Black & White, the core moveset is Rest, Circlethrow, Sleep Talk, and Bulk Up. Rest leads at 18% usage. This set covers the tank role with a mix of damage and utility.
Game Availability
