Moves

TMs define Sunflora's movepool. The natural moves cover basics with Petal Dance and Solar Beam, but the real versatility comes from technical machines giving it Normal and Poison coverage. That's where the options open up.

Sunflora Guide

  • In Gold & Silver, Sunflora's biggest threats include Charizard (Fire), Cloyster (Ice), and Crobat (Poison), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Flying and Bug-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. At base 30 Speed, Sunflora won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.

  • In Gold & Silver, Sunkern evolves into Sunflora using a Sun Stone. Sunflora is the fully evolved form. It sits at 425 BST in its evolved form.

  • In Gold & Silver, Sunflora can work for a story run. 425 BST is average, but Grass typing fills a niche depending on your team composition.

  • In Gold & Silver, Sunflora has a 425 base stat total and ranks as C-Tier: a niche pick in Gold & Silver's meta. It works best as a setup sweeper. Growth with Leftovers is the standard set.

  • In Gold & Silver, Grass typing gives Sunflora 4 resistances. Base 105 Sp. Atk is the standout stat. 425 BST gives it a workable foundation.

Game Availability

Sunflora has been available in 16 games since Gold & Silver, though obtaining it requires an item-based evolution. This extra step makes it less common than Pokemon found through standard wild encounters.
