Stats & Training
Mismagius's spread isn't flashy. Sp. Atk leads, HP trails, 3 stats clear the bar. Tough to catch and worth 2 Sp. Atk and Sp. Def EVs, on a fast 800K XP curve.
It chants incantations. While they usually torment targets, some chants bring happiness.
Its cries sound like incantations to torment the foe. It appears where you least expect it.
Mismagius Weakness
Ghost and Dark moves hit Mismagius for super-effective damage. The upside? Normal and Fighting-type moves can't touch it at all. Levitate grants an additional Ground immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Mismagius's special bulk (base 105 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Ghost, Dark |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Poison, Bug |

Mismagius Guide
In X & Y, Don't let Mismagius's 495 base stat total fool you. Levitate is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier as a sweeper. Hex with Colbur Berry is the standard set.
In X & Y, Run Levitate on Mismagius. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. With base 105 Speed, Levitate gives Mismagius an edge before opponents can react.
In X & Y, Mismagius fills the sweeper role. It's a special attacker with base 105 Sp. Atk. Base 105 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
In X & Y, run Hex, Will O Wisp, Taunt, and Destinybond on Mismagius. Hex is the most common pick at 15% usage. Hex provides reliable STAB damage.
Game Availability
Mismagius has been available in 12 games since Diamond & Pearl, though obtaining it requires an item-based evolution. This extra step makes it less common than Pokemon found through standard wild encounters.
