Although it’s a quiet, lonely Pokémon, if you try to look at what’s under its rag, it will become agitated and resist violently.

Mimikyu Weakness

Type-wise, Mimikyu takes extra damage from Ghost and Steel. Normal, Fighting, and Dragon moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. Mimikyu's special bulk (base 105 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

Moves

The egg pool carries weight here. Curse and Destiny Bond aren't available any other way for Mimikyu, and they meaningfully change what it threatens. Stack those on top of Play Rough and Dazzling Gleam for solid options.

Mimikyu Guide

  • In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Disguise changes the entire equation for Mimikyu. The 476 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked A-Tier. Play Rough with Life Orb is the standard set.

  • In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Mimikyu's biggest threats include Chandelure (Ghost) and Aegislash (Steel), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Disguise is what you want on Mimikyu. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind.

  • Base 96 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Mimikyu is a physical attacker with base 90 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, the best way to handle Mimikyu: Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Ghost and Steel-type attackers hit hardest.

Game Availability

Mimikyu joined the series in Sun & Moon and has been available in 5 titles so far. With 4 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
