Stats & Training
The stat line revolves around HP. Percentage recovery gets extra mileage here. Attack backs it up, though Sp. Def doesn't pull its weight. Worth 3 Attack EVs on a slow 1.25M XP grind to max out.
Sometimes the result of its opening an Ultra Wormhole is that energy and life-forms from other worlds are called here to this world.
In writings from the distant past, it’s called by the name “the beast that devours the sun.”
Solgaleo Weakness
Solgaleo's Psychic/Steel typing leaves it vulnerable to Fire, Ground, Ghost, and Dark. It shrugs off Poison-type attacks completely. It resists 9 types, so it can switch into a lot of moves safely. Solgaleo's overall bulk (137/107/89) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.

Solgaleo Guide
For the Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon meta, At 680 BST, Solgaleo is built different. We rank it S-Tier. As a Legendary Pokemon, the raw stats back up the reputation. Best used as a wallbreaker.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, watch for Arcanine (Fire), Golem (Ground), and Chandelure (Ghost) when using Solgaleo. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Dark-type attackers are also a problem. Solgaleo has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.
Full Metal Body other Pokémon cannot lower this Pokémon's stats. That's the one you want on Solgaleo. It's the only ability Solgaleo has.
Solgaleo is a physical attacker with base 137 Attack. Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 97 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. Fits the wallbreaker role.
For Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Solgaleo has answers, but so do you. Status moves (Toxic, Will-O-Wisp) wear it down. Setup sweepers can use it as a boost opportunity. Special attackers bypass its physical bulk.
Game Availability
