Latios Weakness
Ice, Bug, Ghost, Dragon, and Dark moves hit Latios for super-effective damage. 6 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that. Levitate grants an additional Ground immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Latios's special bulk (base 110 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.
| Damage | Types |

| 2x (Weak) | Ice, Bug, Ghost, Dragon, Dark |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Water, Electric, Grass, Fighting, Psychic |

- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)

Latios Guide
For the Diamond & Pearl meta, At 600 BST, Latios is built different. We rank it A-Tier. As a Legendary Pokemon, the raw stats back up the reputation. Best used as a sweeper.
Mega Evolution isn't available in Diamond & Pearl, but Latios does have a Mega form in Gen 6-7 games (X/Y, ORAS, Sun/Moon). Mega Latios hits 700 BST.
In Diamond & Pearl, watch for Lapras (Ice), Heracross (Bug), and Misdreavus (Ghost) when using Latios. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Dragon and Dark-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
In Diamond & Pearl, Run Levitate on Latios. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. With base 110 Speed, Levitate gives Latios an edge before opponents can react.
In Diamond & Pearl, Latios fills the sweeper role. It's a special attacker with base 130 Sp. Atk. Base 110 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
