Stats & Training
The stat bars tell the story: Speed carries everything and Sp. Atk's dead weight. But this Sharp Claw Pokemon still yields 2 Attack and Speed EVs per fight on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
They live in cold regions, forming groups of four or five that hunt prey with impressive coordination.
It sends signals to others by carving odd patterns in frost-covered trees and ice.
Weavile Weakness
Fighting, Fire, Bug, Rock, and Steel moves hit Weavile for super-effective damage. Fighting hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. The upside? Psychic-type moves can't touch it at all.

| 2x (Weak) | Fire, Bug, Rock, Steel |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Ice, Ghost, Dark |

Weavile Guide
In Diamond & Pearl, Weavile works as a sweeper with 510 BST behind it. B-Tier on our list: a solid option in Diamond & Pearl for the right team. Ice Shard with Expert Belt is the standard set.
In Diamond & Pearl, watch for Hitmonlee (Fighting), Arcanine (Fire), and Heracross (Bug) when using Weavile. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Hitmonlee is the most dangerous since Fighting moves deal 4x damage. Rock and Steel-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
Pressure increases the PP cost of moves targetting the Pokémon by one. That's the one you want on Weavile. Pickpocket is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.
Weavile is a physical attacker with base 120 Attack. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 125 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. Fits the sweeper role.
In Diamond & Pearl, run Ice Shard, Nightslash, Lowkick, and Pursuit on Weavile. Ice Shard is the most common pick at 20% usage. Pursuit provides reliable STAB damage.
Game Availability
Since Diamond & Pearl, Weavile has been in 13 games. Requiring an item-based evolution to obtain means it's consistently available but requires more effort than simply catching it in the wild.
