Stats & Training
Flygon's stats barely vary. 6 sit in respectable range with no real gaps. It's a blank slate for EV investment. Worth 3 Attack and Speed EVs, 1.06M XP medium-slow curve to max.
It hides itself by kicking up desert sand with its wings. Red covers shield its eyes from sand.
Known as “The Desert Spirit,” this Pokémon hides in the sandstorms it causes by beating its wings.
Flygon Weakness
Type-wise, Flygon takes extra damage from Ice, Dragon, and Fairy. Watch out for Ice attacks, those deal 4x damage. Electric moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. Levitate grants an additional Ground immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. With 80 HP and balanced defenses, Flygon can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 4x (Critical) | Ice |
| 2x (Weak) | Dragon, Fairy |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Poison, Rock |
| 0x (Immune) | Electric |
In X & Y, Clefable's Moonblast hits Flygon for 79-93%. Garchomp's Earthquake hits Flygon for 65-77%. Weavile's Ice Shard also KOs at 150-177%.

How to Get Flygon in X & Y
No wild encounters for Flygon. The 3-stage chain runs through Trapinch, which you can catch at solid rates from the locations below. Evolve at level 45 once you've got the levels.
Flygon Guide
In X & Y, Don't let Flygon's 520 base stat total fool you. Levitate is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier as a sweeper. Draco Meteor with Choice Specs is the standard set.
In X & Y, Run Levitate on Flygon. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. With base 100 Speed, Levitate gives Flygon an edge before opponents can react.
In X & Y, Flygon fills the sweeper role. It's a physical attacker with base 100 Attack. Base 100 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
For X & Y, the core moveset is Draco Meteor, Earthquake, Earthpower, and Sunnyday. Draco Meteor leads at 17% usage. Earthquake provides reliable STAB damage.
