Glaceon Evolutions
Out of 8 evolutions from Eevee, Glaceon comes from the item path. The method you use determines which form you end up with. Breed through Eevee to get eggs. Both Glaceon and Vaporeon hit 525 total stats from Eevee. The difference is how those stats are split. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed with Glaceon to get Eevee eggs (with patience) using 206 partners from the Ground egg group. Notable egg moves include Curse, Detect, Double Kick and 5 more.
SV Glaceon Best Moveset
130 Sp. Atk at 110 Defense on pure Ice with 65 Speed. The moveset runs the strongest special Ice TermStab among Eeveelutions. AbilityIce Body heals under snow. 110 Defense tanks physical hits between slow attacks. Tera Ice amplifies the Sp. Atk further. Speed is the constant problem, and Ice typing adds four weaknesses without secondary coverage.
Best Build
Glaceon best EVs are HP and Sp. Atk
Special Tank Moveset
- Freeze Dry
- Shadow Ball
- Blizzard

Moves List
The natural movepool does the job, but Curse and Detect from the egg pool give Glaceon something extra. Pair those with Blizzard and Ice Beam for STAB and coverage across 9 types for reach, and the kit fills out nicely.

Base Stats
It can control its body temperature at will. This enables it to freeze the moisture in the atmosphere, creating flurries of diamond dust.
It lowers its body heat to freeze its fur. The hairs then become like needles it can fire.
Glaceon Scarlet & Violet Guide
In Scarlet & Violet, Glaceon has a 525 base stat total and ranks as B-Tier: a solid option in Scarlet & Violet for the right team. It works best as a wallbreaker. Freezedry with Leftovers is the standard set.
In Scarlet & Violet, watch for Infernape (Fire), Machamp (Fighting), and Aerodactyl (Rock) when using Glaceon. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Steel-type attackers are also a problem.
Snow Cloak increases evasion to 1.25× during hail. That's the one you want on Glaceon. Ice Body is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.
In Scarlet & Violet, Glaceon fills the wallbreaker role. It's a special attacker with base 130 Sp. Atk. At base 65 Speed, it won't be moving first often. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
In Scarlet & Violet, run Freezedry, Shadow Ball, Blizzard, and Ice Beam on Glaceon. Freezedry is the most common pick at 0% usage. Blizzard provides reliable STAB damage.
Game Availability
Glaceon has been available in 14 games since Diamond & Pearl, though obtaining it requires an item-based evolution. This extra step makes it less common than Pokemon found through standard wild encounters.
