In Scarlet & Violet, Chien-Pao is a Legendary Pokemon rated B-Tier. At 570 BST, it hits hard. It excels as a sweeper. Sacredsword with Choice Band is the standard set.
Chien-Pao is a static encounter at Paldea West Province Area One in Scarlet & Violet. Chien-Pao appears at level 60. Save before the encounter. These one-shot Pokemon don't respawn if you knock them out or run out of Poke Balls.
In Scarlet & Violet, Chien-Pao's biggest threats include Machamp (Fighting), Charizard (Fire), and Pinsir (Bug), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Machamp is the most dangerous since Fighting moves deal 4x damage. Rock, Steel, and Fairy-type attackers are also a problem. With 6 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
Sword Of Ruin is the go-to ability for Chien-Pao. It lowers Defense of all Pokémon except itself. It's Chien-Pao's only ability.
