Stats & Training
Nothing fancy in Swampert's spread. It leans physical with Attack out front. And you'll get 3 Attack EVs per KO for it. Follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
It can swim while towing a large ship. It bashes down foes with a swing of its thick arms.

Swampert Weakness
Swampert is weak to Grass. Watch out for Grass attacks, those deal 4x damage. On the flip side, it's immune to Electric-type moves entirely. The Water/Ground typing picks up 4 resistances to work with. Swampert's overall bulk (100/90/90) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 4x (Critical) | Grass |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Poison, Rock, Steel |
| 0x (Immune) | Electric |

Moves
Most of Swampert's flexibility comes from TMs. Same-type output runs through Hydro Pump and Earthquake, but Fighting and Normal and the rest of the TM pool push it from predictable to genuinely threatening.

Swampert Guide
In Sword & Shield, Swampert works as a tank with 535 BST behind it. B-Tier on our list: a solid option in Sword & Shield for the right team. Stealth Rock with Leftovers is the standard set.
Mega Evolution isn't available in Sword & Shield, but Swampert does have a Mega form in Gen 6-7 games (X/Y, ORAS, Sun/Moon). Mega Swampert hits 635 BST.
Torrent is the go-to ability for Swampert. It strengthens water moves to inflict 1.5× damage at 1/3 max HP or less. Its hidden ability Damp can work in specific setups.
Swampert is a physical attacker with base 110 Attack. Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. Speed tells the real story. At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often. Fits the tank role.
Game Availability
Available since Ruby & Sapphire, Swampert appears in 16 games spanning 8 generations. Beyond its original form, it gained a Mega form in Generation 6.
