Swampert Weakness

Swampert is weak to Grass. Watch out for Grass attacks, those deal 4x damage. On the flip side, it's immune to Electric-type moves entirely. The Water/Ground typing picks up 4 resistances to work with. Swampert's overall bulk (100/90/90) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.

Black 2 & White 2 Swampert Best Moveset

Swampert doesn't rely on pure speed. Leftovers gives it passive recovery each turn to stay healthy, and Quiet nature still pushes offense. Earthquake and double STAB keep the pressure on while max HP and Sp. Atk EVs balance power and survivability.

Moves

Egg moves make a real difference. Swampert gets Ancient Power and Avalanche exclusively through breeding, filling gaps that TMs and level-up can't touch. Coverage across 9 types rounds out the picture alongside Hydro Cannon and Hydro Pump.

How to Get Swampert in Black 2 & White 2

Swampert can't be caught in Black 2 & White 2. Transfer Mudkip from Ruby, Emerald, or Brilliant Diamond and evolve through the 3-stage chain to get it. The step cards below map the full chain.

How to Obtain Swampert in Black 2 & White 2

  1. Swampert
    Step 3Swampert

Swampert Guide

  • In Black 2 & White 2, Swampert works as a tank with 535 BST behind it. C-Tier on our list: a niche pick in Black 2 & White 2's meta. Earthquake with Leftovers is the standard set.

  • Mega Evolution isn't available in Black 2 & White 2, but Swampert does have a Mega form in Gen 6-7 games (X/Y, ORAS, Sun/Moon). Mega Swampert hits 635 BST.

  • In Black 2 & White 2, Swampert's biggest threats include Breloom (Grass), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Breloom is the most dangerous since Grass moves deal 4x damage. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Torrent is the go-to ability for Swampert. It strengthens water moves to inflict 1.5× damage at 1/3 max HP or less. Its hidden ability Damp can work in specific setups.

  • Swampert is a mixed attacker with base 110 Attack and 85 Sp. Atk. Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. Speed tells the real story. At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often. Fits the tank role.

Game Availability

Available since Ruby & Sapphire, Swampert appears in 16 games spanning 8 generations. Beyond its original form, it gained a Mega form in Generation 6.
