Stats & Training
Spinda's stats barely vary. None sit in respectable range with no real gaps. It's a blank slate for EV investment. Worth 1 Sp. Atk EV, fast 800K XP curve to max.
It is distinguished by a pattern of spots that is always different. Its unsteady, tottering walk has the effect of fouling its foe’s aim.
Spinda Weakness
Spinda's Normal typing leaves it vulnerable to Fighting. It shrugs off Ghost-type attacks completely. Only 1 weakness makes it relatively easy to build around defensively.

Emerald Evolution
Spinda is what you get. No evolutions, but it breeds through two egg groups with a massive partner pool. Hatching is quick to hatch. It's got 8 egg moves worth looking into. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed Spinda easily with 102 breeding partners from the Ground and Humanshape egg groups. Pass egg moves like Assist, Baton Pass, Disable and 5 more to offspring.
Emerald Spinda Best Moveset
Owntempo isn't flashy, but it matters. Combined with Quickclaw for extra utility and max HP and Sp. Def EVs, Spinda fills the attacker slot reliably. Gentle nature finishes the spread.

Moves
Breadth over depth defines this movepool. Spinda won't stack one type's damage ceiling, but coverage across 10 types means it always has an effective option. Double-Edge and Thrash anchor the STAB core.

Spinda Guide
In Emerald, watch for Machamp (Fighting) when using Spinda. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.
In Emerald, Spinda has niche appeal at best. 360 base stats means you're fighting uphill by mid-game. There are better Normal Pokemon available.
In Emerald, Don't let Spinda's 360 base stat total fool you. Contrary is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it D-Tier. Teeterdance with Quickclaw is the standard set.
In Emerald, Run Contrary on Spinda. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Spinda also gets Own Tempo and Tangled Feet, but they don't compare.
In Emerald, Normal typing gives Spinda 1 resistances plus Ghost immunity. HP at base 60 is the top stat. Pure Normal type with same-type attack bonus on Normal moves.
