Incredibly slow and dopey. It takes 5 seconds for it to feel pain when under attack.

Slowpoke Weakness

Slowpoke's Water/Psychic typing leaves it vulnerable to Electric and Grass. It shrugs off Ghost-type attacks completely. 5 resistances help offset the weaknesses. Slowpoke's physical bulk (base 65 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

Slowpoke Guide

  • Multiple options from Slowpoke: Slowbro at level 37, Slowking while holding a Kings Rock, Galarian Slowbro using a Galarica Cuff, and Galarian Slowking using a Galarica Wreath. Each branch takes the 315 BST base in a different direction.

  • Not a straight line. Slowpoke can become Slowbro at level 37, Slowking while holding a Kings Rock, Galarian Slowbro using a Galarica Cuff, and Galarian Slowking using a Galarica Wreath. Your choice depends on what you need.

  • For Red & Blue, you can run Slowpoke through the first few routes without issues. 315 BST won't carry you far though. Get it to Slowbro as fast as you can.

  • You can find Slowpoke in Red & Blue. The Locations section has the full breakdown of routes and encounter details. It also appears in 20 other games across the series.

Game Availability

Since debuting in Red & Blue, Slowpoke has appeared in 21 titles over 10 generations. Along the way, it received a Galarian form in Generation 8, keeping it relevant across different competitive metas.
