Stats & Training
Nothing fancy in Parasect's spread. It leans physical with Attack out front. And you'll get 3 Attack and Defense EVs per KO for it. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
A mushroom grown larger than the host’s body controls Parasect. It scatters poisonous spores.
The larger the mushroom on its back grows, the stronger the mushroom spores it scatters.
Parasect Weakness
Parasect's Bug/Grass typing leaves it vulnerable to Fire, Flying, Ice, Poison, Bug, and Rock. Fire and Flying hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. The Bug/Grass typing picks up 5 resistances to work with. Dry Skin grants an additional Water immunity, reshaping the matchup chart.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 4x (Critical) | Fire, Flying |
| 2x (Weak) | Ice, Poison, Bug, Rock |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Water, Electric, Fighting |
| 0.25x (Resist) | Grass, Ground |
In X & Y, Weavile's Ice Shard hits Parasect for 70-83%. Zapdos's Heat Wave also KOs at 86-102%.

X & Y Evolution
Parasect is what Paras becomes. Breed it for Paras eggs (average hatch time). Plenty of partners for breeding via two egg groups. Eggs are average hatch time. The evolution from Paras pushed Parasect to 405 total stats. HP saw the largest single gain at +25. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve

Breed with Parasect to get Paras eggs easily using 68 partners from the Bug and Plant egg groups. Notable egg moves include Agility, Bug Bite, Counter and 13 more.
X & Y Parasect Best Moveset
One guaranteed turn is all Parasect needs. Focus Sash buys it, max HP and Sp. Def EVs make it count, and Effect Spore adds something extra. The goal: deal early damage and deal damage with Spore. Utility options gives it play beyond just the lead turn.

Moves
The natural movepool does the job, but Agility and Bug Bite from the egg pool give Parasect something extra. Pair those with Solar Beam and Energy Ball for STAB and coverage across 8 types for reach, and the kit fills out nicely.

How to Get Parasect in X & Y
Parasect Guide
In X & Y, watch for Arcanine (Fire), Aerodactyl (Flying), and Cloyster (Ice) when using Parasect. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Arcanine is the most dangerous since Fire moves deal 4x damage. Poison, Bug, and Rock-type attackers are also a problem. With 6 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. At base 30 Speed, Parasect won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
In X & Y, Paras evolves into Parasect at level 24. Parasect is the fully evolved form. It sits at 405 BST in its evolved form.
For X & Y, it depends on your team. Parasect at 405 BST isn't a powerhouse, but the Bug/Grass coverage might be exactly what you're missing.
In X & Y, Parasect looks average on paper at 405 BST. But Dry Skin is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. C-Tier trick room on our tier list. Spore with Focus Sash is the standard set.
Parasect gets Dry Skin, Effect Spore, and Damp. But Dry Skin is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.
