Stats & Training
An unusually even spread gives Mew flexibility. HP barely edges ahead. But any other stat isn't far off. Tough to catch and follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve. Yields 3 HP EVs.
Because it can use all kinds of moves, many scientists believe Mew to be the ancestor of Pokémon.

Mew Weakness
Mew's Psychic typing leaves it vulnerable to Bug, Ghost, and Dark. Mew's overall bulk (100/100/100) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.

A Psychic-type mythical at 600 base stats, Mew can't breed or evolve. Event distribution is the standard way to obtain one. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.

Sun & Moon Mew Best Moveset
This is a pure walling set. Leftovers provides passive recovery each turn so Mew sticks around, and the Bold nature reinforces physical wall. The moveset handles sustain while Synchronize does work passively.

Breadth over depth defines this movepool. Mew won't stack one type's damage ceiling, but coverage across 17 types means it always has an effective option. Dream Eater and Psychic anchor the STAB core.

How to Get Mew in Sun & Moon
Mew doesn't appear in Sun & Moon. Transfer it from Emerald to add it to your collection. Check the source games below for encounter details.
Mew Guide
For the Sun & Moon meta, At 600 BST, Mew is built different. We rank it B-Tier. As a Mythical Pokemon, the raw stats back up the reputation. Best used as a support. Fakeout with Leftovers is the standard set.
Synchronize copies burns, paralysis, and poison received onto the Pokémon that inflicted them. That's the one you want on Mew. It's the only ability Mew has.
Base 100 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. On offense, Mew is leaning toward the physical side (base 100 Attack). Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a support.
For Sun & Moon, Mew has answers, but so do you. Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Bug, Ghost, and Dark-type attackers hit hardest.
Game Availability
Mew first appeared in Red & Blue and has been available in 20 titles. Mythical distribution means event-only access in most games, making it one of the harder Pokemon to collect.
