Stats & Training
An unusually even spread gives Mew flexibility. HP barely edges ahead. But any other stat isn't far off. Tough to catch and follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve. Yields 3 HP EVs.
A POKéMON of South America that was thought to have been extinct. It is very intelligent and learns any move.
So rare that it is still said to be a mirage by many experts. Only a few people have seen it worldwide.
Mew Weakness
Mew's Psychic typing leaves it vulnerable to Bug, Ghost, and Dark. Mew's overall bulk (100/100/100) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Bug, Ghost, Dark |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fighting, Psychic |
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move
In FireRed & LeafGreen, Forretress's Explosion hits Mew for 48-57%. Houndoom's Crunch hits Mew for 69-81%. Dusclops deals 34-40% with Shadow Ball.

Breadth over depth defines this movepool. Mew won't stack one type's damage ceiling, but coverage across 15 types means it always has an effective option. Dream Eater and Psychic anchor the STAB core.

Mew Guide
For the FireRed & LeafGreen meta, At 600 BST, Mew is built different. We rank it A-Tier. As a Mythical Pokemon, the raw stats back up the reputation. Best used as a sweeper.
Synchronize copies burns, paralysis, and poison received onto the Pokémon that inflicted them. That's the one you want on Mew. It's the only ability Mew has.
Base 100 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. On offense, Mew is a special attacker with base 100 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a sweeper.
For FireRed & LeafGreen, Mew has answers, but so do you. Priority moves (Mach Punch, Aqua Jet, Ice Shard) bypass its speed. Bulky walls that resist its STAB also shut it down.
Game Availability
Mew first appeared in Red & Blue and has been available in 20 titles. Mythical distribution means event-only access in most games, making it one of the harder Pokemon to collect.
