Stats & Training
An unusually even spread gives Mew flexibility. HP barely edges ahead. But any other stat isn't far off. Tough to catch and follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve. Yields 3 HP EVs.
Because it can use all kinds of moves, many scientists believe Mew to be the ancestor of Pokémon.

Mew Weakness
Mew's Psychic typing leaves it vulnerable to Bug, Ghost, and Dark. Mew's overall bulk (100/100/100) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Bug, Ghost, Dark |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fighting, Psychic |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)
In Black 2 & White 2, Volcarona's Fire Blast hits Mew for 54-64%. Hydreigon deals 75-89% with Dark Pulse.

How to Get Mew in Black 2 & White 2
Mew can't be caught in Black 2 & White 2. Bring it over from Emerald instead. The encounter info below covers the source games.
Mew Guide
For the Black 2 & White 2 meta, At 600 BST, Mew is built different. We rank it B-Tier. As a Mythical Pokemon, the raw stats back up the reputation. Best used as a sweeper. Ice Beam with Leftovers is the standard set.
Synchronize copies burns, paralysis, and poison received onto the Pokémon that inflicted them. That's the one you want on Mew. It's the only ability Mew has.
Base 100 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. On offense, Mew is a special attacker with base 100 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a sweeper.
For Black 2 & White 2, Mew has answers, but so do you. Priority moves (Mach Punch, Aqua Jet, Ice Shard) bypass its speed. Bulky walls that resist its STAB also shut it down.
Game Availability
Mew first appeared in Red & Blue and has been available in 20 titles. Mythical distribution means event-only access in most games, making it one of the harder Pokemon to collect.
