Stats & Training
Hakamo-o's spread isn't flashy. Defense leads, HP trails, 1 stats clear the bar. Tough to catch and worth 2 Defense EVs, on a slow 1.25M XP grind.
It leaps at its prey with a courageous shout. Its scaly punches tear its opponents to shreds.
It sheds and regrows its scales on a continuous basis. The scales become harder and sharper each time they’re regrown.
Hakamo-o Weakness
Hakamo O's Dragon/Fighting typing leaves it vulnerable to Fairy, Ice, Flying, Psychic, and Dragon. Fairy hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. 7 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that.

Hakamo-o Guide
In Sun & Moon, Hakamo-o isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. At 420 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.
In Sun & Moon, watch for Sylveon (Fairy), Weavile (Ice), and Braviary (Flying) when using Hakamo-o. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Sylveon is the most dangerous since Fairy moves deal 4x damage. Psychic and Dragon-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
Bulletproof protects against bullet, ball, and bomb-based moves. That's the one you want on Hakamo-o. Overcoat is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Soundproof works too if your team needs something different.
In Sun & Moon, Hakamo-o fills the balanced role. It's a physical attacker with base 75 Attack. At base 65 Speed, it won't be moving first often. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Game Availability
Introduced in Sun & Moon, Hakamo O has appeared in 4 games across 4 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
