Stats & Training
Everything pushes toward special damage here. Heliolisk's Sp. Atk does the work, Defense pays the price. But you're still getting 2 Sp. Atk and Speed EVs per KO. Moderately hard to find, on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
A now-vanished desert culture treasured these Pokémon. Appropriately, when Heliolisk came to the Galar region, treasure came with them.
One Heliolisk basking in the sun with its frill outspread is all it would take to produce enough electricity to power a city.
Heliolisk Weakness
Heliolisk's Electric/Normal typing leaves it vulnerable to Fighting and Ground. It shrugs off Ghost-type attacks completely. Dry Skin grants an additional Water immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Heliolisk's special bulk (base 94 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

Heliolisk Guide
In Sun & Moon, Heliolisk looks average on paper at 481 BST. But Dry Skin is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. C-Tier sweeper on our tier list. Volt Switch with Assault Vest is the standard set.
In Sun & Moon, watch for Machamp (Fighting) and Golem (Ground) when using Heliolisk. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about. Heliolisk's base 109 Speed lets it outpace many threats and strike first, which matters more than trying to tank hits.
Heliolisk gets Dry Skin, Sand Veil, and Solar Power. But Dry Skin is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that. With base 109 Speed, Dry Skin gives Heliolisk an edge before opponents can react.
Heliolisk is a special attacker with base 109 Sp. Atk. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 109 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. Fits the sweeper role.
In Sun & Moon, run Volt Switch, Electroweb, Dragon Pulse, and Paraboliccharge on Heliolisk. Volt Switch is the most common pick at 18% usage. Electroweb provides reliable STAB damage.
