Stats & Training
Sp. Atk and HP carry most of Exeggutor's stat budget. Speed's the obvious dump stat. Tough to catch and yields 2 Sp. Atk EVs. Follows a slow 1.25M XP grind.
It is called “The Walking Tropical Rainforest.” Each of the nuts has a face and a will of its own.
It is said that on rare occasions, one of its heads will drop off and continue on as an EXEGGCUTE.
Exeggutor Weakness
Exeggutor's Grass/Psychic typing leaves it vulnerable to Bug, Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, Ghost, and Dark. Bug hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. With 6 resistances, the defensive profile is strong.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 4x (Critical) | Bug |
| 2x (Weak) | Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, Ghost, Dark |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Water, Electric, Grass, Fighting, Ground, Psychic |
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move
In FireRed & LeafGreen, Claydol's Explosion hits Exeggutor for 64-76%. Regirock's Explosion hits Exeggutor for 83-98%. Forretress deals 55-65% with Explosion.

Exeggutor Guide
In FireRed & LeafGreen, Chlorophyll changes the entire equation for Exeggutor. The 530 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as a wallbreaker. Solarbeam with Leftovers is the standard set.
In FireRed & LeafGreen, watch for Pinsir (Bug), Arcanine (Fire), and Lapras (Ice) when using Exeggutor. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Pinsir is the most dangerous since Bug moves deal 4x damage. Poison, Flying, Ghost, and Dark-type attackers are also a problem. With 7 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
Chlorophyll is what you want on Exeggutor. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Harvest) work on paper but Chlorophyll is what makes Exeggutor worth using.
At base 55 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Exeggutor is a special attacker with base 125 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a wallbreaker.
In FireRed & LeafGreen, run Solarbeam, Sunnyday, Sleep Powder, and Hiddenpowerfire on Exeggutor. Solarbeam is the most common pick at 21% usage. This set covers the wallbreaker role with a mix of damage and utility.
