Stats & Training
Special and HP carry most of Exeggutor's stat budget. Speed's the obvious dump stat. Tough to catch and yields 2 Special stat exp. Follows a slow 1.25M XP grind.
Its cries are very noisy. This is because each of the 3 heads thinks about whatever it likes.
Exeggutor Weakness
Exeggutor's Grass/Psychic typing leaves it vulnerable to Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, and Bug. It shrugs off Ghost-type attacks completely. With 6 resistances, the defensive profile is strong. Exeggutor's special bulk (base 125 Special) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, Bug |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Water, Electric, Grass, Fighting, Ground, Psychic |
| 0x (Immune) | Ghost |
- Only 15 types exist — Dark, Steel, and Fairy are absent
- Ghost has no effect on Psychic (a known bug, fixed in Gen II)
- Special stat governs both offense and defense — no Sp.Atk / Sp.Def split
In Yellow, Rhydon's Rock Slide hits Exeggutor for 35-42%. Golem's Explosion hits Exeggutor for 73-85%.

Exeggutor Guide
For Yellow, we rate Exeggutor S-Tier: one of the best picks in the Yellow meta. At 580 BST, it fits the wallbreaker role. Psychic anchors the moveset.
In Yellow, watch for Arcanine (Fire), Lapras (Ice), and Nidoking (Poison) when using Exeggutor. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Flying and Bug-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. Exeggutor has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.
At base 55 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Exeggutor is a special attacker with base 125 Special. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a wallbreaker.
For Yellow, Exeggutor has answers, but so do you. Status moves (Toxic, Will-O-Wisp) wear it down. Setup sweepers can use it as a boost opportunity. Physical attackers can break through.
In Yellow, run Psychic, Sleep Powder, Explosion, and Stun Spore on Exeggutor. Psychic is the most common pick at 25% usage. Psychic provides reliable STAB damage.
