Stats & Training
The stat budget goes to damage. Attack and Speed carry the offense, HP doesn't even come close. A Triple Bird Pokemon on a medium-fast 1M XP curve, worth 2 Attack EVs per KO.
Watch out if DODRIO’s three heads are looking in three separate directions. It’s a sure sign that it is on its guard. Don’t go near this POKéMON if it’s being wary - it may decide to peck you.
Apparently, the heads aren’t the only parts of the body that DODRIO has three of. It has three sets of hearts and lungs as well, so it is capable of running long distances without rest.
Dodrio Weakness
Electric, Ice, and Rock moves hit Dodrio for super-effective damage. The upside? Ground and Ghost-type moves can't touch it at all. At base 100 Speed, Dodrio outspeeds most threats and doesn't need to tank what it can outrun.
| Damage | Types |

Dodrio Guide
For Ruby & Sapphire, we rate Dodrio C-Tier: a niche pick in Ruby & Sapphire's meta. At 460 BST, it fits the sweeper role. Drill Peck with Choice Band is the standard set.
In Ruby & Sapphire, watch for Raikou (Electric), Lapras (Ice), and Aerodactyl (Rock) when using Dodrio. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Dodrio's base 100 Speed lets it outpace many threats and strike first, which matters more than trying to tank hits.
Run Away ensures success fleeing from wild battles. That's the one you want on Dodrio. Tangled Feet is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Early Bird works too if your team needs something different.
Base 100 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. On offense, Dodrio is a physical attacker with base 110 Attack. Best used as a sweeper.
For Ruby & Sapphire, Dodrio has answers, but so do you. Priority moves (Mach Punch, Aqua Jet, Ice Shard) bypass its speed. Bulky walls that resist its STAB also shut it down.
